In Nyang’au village, Migori County, police are investigating a tragic incident in which a 37-year-old man allegedly killed his father following a dispute over money.
According to local authorities, the suspect, Geoffrey Omondi, reportedly attacked his father, John Oyugi, after an unresolved financial disagreement turned violent.
John Oyugi suffered severe head injuries during the altercation. His wife, Margaret Anyango, reported the incident to police, detailing how the family argument escalated. Despite efforts to rush him to Rongo Subcounty Hospital, Oyugi was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities have since transferred his body to Rosewood Mortuary for a post-mortem examination as part of their ongoing investigation.
Separate Incident in Kakamega Leads to Fatal Assault
In another case in the Kabras division of Kakamega North, a 69-year-old man named Charles Mukunyi was allegedly attacked by an individual known to him, sustaining serious head and hand injuries. Initially treated at Malava Subcounty Hospital, Mukunyi was later referred to Kakamega Referral Hospital due to the severity of his wounds, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police processed the scene and moved his body to Orthopedic Kakamega Mortuary, pending a post-mortem. Authorities continue to investigate to understand the motive and exact details of the assault.
Body of Unidentified Man Discovered in Tana River County
In a separate incident in Roka village, Tana River County, residents found the body of an unidentified man, estimated to be around 50 years old. Responding to the alert, officers from Bangale Police Station collected evidence at the scene, taking elimination fingerprints to identify the deceased and determine any potential foul play. The body was transferred to Garissa General and Referral Hospital Mortuary for further examination and identification. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the circumstances of his death.
