Empowering Kenyan Youth Through International Leadership
The United States has opened applications for its prestigious Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program, inviting Kenyan youths aged 21-27 to apply for an extraordinary opportunity that includes a free US J-1 visa.

The CEE program, a transformative initiative, aims to empower emerging civil society leaders from around the globe. It provides selected fellows with the tools, networks, and experiences needed to drive impactful change in their communities.
Breaking Barriers with Fully Sponsored Visas
The J-1 visa, offered as part of the program, enables participants to travel to the US for a three-month practicum without worrying about financial or logistical hurdles. Sponsored by the US Department of State, the program emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that young changemakers can focus solely on their development.
An Invitation to Kenyan Changemakers
“Are you a young Kenyan leader working to uplift your community? Apply for the CEE Program and gain hands-on experience in the US, build your leadership skills, and join a global network of changemakers,” read a statement from the US Embassy in Nairobi.
The CEE program annually selects youth leaders from over 100 countries, offering them a year-long leadership development journey. This includes a three-month practicum in the United States, where participants are paired with civil society organizations for immersive, hands-on experience.
A Holistic Approach to Leadership Development
Participants not only gain valuable experience abroad but also receive mentorship and resources to design and implement impactful Community Engagement Projects (CEP) upon returning home. These projects are tailored to address local challenges, ensuring that the skills and knowledge acquired during the program are effectively applied.
Comprehensive Benefits for Participants
Fellows enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- Fully covered travel expenses.
- A living stipend to cover accommodation, meals, and daily necessities.
- Comprehensive health insurance for the program’s duration.
- Funding to support the implementation of their CEPs.
