President William Ruto has expressed his pride in having Kithure Kindiki as his Deputy, citing the qualities that make him an exemplary leader and an asset to the country.

Speaking in Meru during the launch of the Human-Wildlife Conflict Compensation Fund on May 26, 2025, Ruto highlighted Kindiki’s deep understanding of governance and his unwavering support for state programs spanning agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure.

A Deputy for Progress

Ruto commended Kindiki for being more than just a supportive deputy. “I am proud to have Kithure Kindiki as my deputy. He understands governance, state programs, and how to push Kenya forward. He is instrumental in supporting Cabinet Secretaries and working collaboratively to deliver results,” Ruto stated.

The President praised Kindiki’s approach, noting his focus on unity and inclusivity. “He is not a man of grudges, anger, or tribalism. He understands that the office of the Deputy President belongs to all Kenyans, not just one community,” Ruto added.

A Leader with Proven Experience

Kindiki assumed office as the Deputy President in December 2024 following the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua. Prior to this role, he served as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior, where he earned a reputation for his strong leadership in one of Kenya’s most influential ministries.

Ruto underscored the significance of Kindiki’s appointment, stating that he needed an intellectual partner who could amplify the government’s agenda and address gaps from the first two years of his administration.

“I trust his intellect and ability to lead. He has stepped up to improve areas where we may have faltered and has become a voice for our government’s initiatives,” Ruto remarked.

Driving Kenya’s Development

The President credited Kindiki for his involvement in key projects and his commitment to national unity. “You’ve seen him in action—addressing challenges in agriculture, improving roads, advancing education, and ensuring healthcare reforms. This is how we will transform Kenya,” Ruto said.

The President’s endorsement of Kindiki’s leadership not only affirms his confidence in the Deputy President but also reflects the government’s commitment to cohesive governance and national progress.
