Demos 4th day in the country

Monday, 24th marks the fourth day of protests continuing in the country against the anti-finance bill riots organized by Gen Z activists. With many activities unfolding over the weekend, the country is expected to witness more of it.

Over the weekend, anti-finance activists on different social media platforms, led by X tweeps, organized virtual spaces to educate the public on the disadvantages of passing the bill.

On Saturday, nightclubs and parties across the nation played an important role in informing members about the great harm the finance bill would cause to young unemployed youths. It was witnessed that all clubs played the national anthem at midnight to show patriotism to the nation’s cause.

This comes as members of the opposition party, led by Azimio leader SG Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kalonzo Musyoka, and other leaders, came out to condemn the police brutality witnessed on Thursday across the nation, including the death of protester Rex Masai. The opposition also took to the political podium to criticize the abduction of some strong youth activists witnessed nationwide. Among those abducted were activists Shadrack Kiprop, Billy Simani, Dr. Austin Omondi, AG’s son Justin Muturi, and many others.

On Sunday, the youth fully occupied the churches to request the clergy to come together as one to fight the atrocities. This comes as the government came out full swing to criticize the previous demonstrations, claiming them as unlawful and organized by those who do not mean well for the nation’s growth. President William Ruto, during the Sunday prayer held at ACK Nyahururu, advised the youth to dialogue with the government on the changes they need in the financial bill before its final reading on Tuesday. This comes only hours before the mass protests organized for Tuesday across the counties in the country
