Amnesty International emphasized that these abductions are a blatant violation of human rights and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
The European Union and other international bodies have also raised alarms about the deteriorating human rights situation in Kenya, urging the government to uphold its commitments to protect freedom of expression and ensure the safety of activists. The United Nations Human Rights Council has underscored the importance of safeguarding human rights defenders and ensuring they can carry out their legitimate activities without fear of reprisals.
In response to these developments, there have been calls for accountability and justice for the abducted activists, with demands for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. Civil society groups continue to advocate for a safe and enabling environment for activism and dissent in Kenya, emphasizing the critical role of youth in democratic governance and social change.
