A Catholic sister who was recently expelled from her congregation has raised fresh concerns about her safety, claiming her life is now in danger after publicly accusing priests of mistreating nuns.

Sister Annastacia’s Explosive Allegations

Kinse Shako Annastacia, formerly a reverend sister, went viral weeks ago after posting on Facebook that some priests exploited religious sisters, treating them as subservient and misusing spiritual direction to cover misconduct.

In her post, Annastacia strongly rejected stereotypes that undermine the dignity of nuns:

“Religious sisters are not priests’ wives or bedmates. We are not ornaments in habits. We are not commodities for priests to use at will, nor are we mistresses in veils. We are women called by God, consecrated to service, prayer, and the mission of the Church. Yet too often, behind stained glass windows and polished marble altars, we are treated as less.”

She even recalled a disturbing encounter in which a priest told her, “Sisters are meant to be priests’ wives” — a remark she insisted was not a joke but a reflection of the attitudes she had endured.

“If Anything Happens to Me…”

In a more recent post, Annastacia warned that her safety was at risk, alleging harassment by Catholic priests and a layman from a Catholic university.

She urged her followers to share her message widely, stating that her testimony was already recorded:

“If anything ever happens to me or I suddenly go silent, know that the truth is documented. Justice should take its course. I was harassed by Catholic priests and a lay man in a Catholic university. Please tag those who can help me get justice ⚖️ — not when I am no more.”

She added that this would be her last post for now, appealing to Kenyans to support her fight for justice.

Growing Reactions

Her revelations have sparked heated debate online, with many praising her courage while others question the Church’s handling of such sensitive accusations.

The Catholic Church has yet to issue a public response to Annastacia’s claims.
