GOVERNMENT SPOKESMAN ISAAC MWAURA ADDRESSSES THE PUBLIC CALLS FOR UNITY AND DIALOGUE AMIDST NATIONAL PROTESTS

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura stepped forward to address the nation amidst the backdrop of persistent protests, delivering a message intended to reassure Kenyans that their concerns had not gone unheard. With a resolute tone, Mwaura conveyed the president’s commitment to addressing the grievances swiftly and effectively.

“The president and the whole government has heard your concerns loud and clear, we are ready to act on it,” Mwaura declared during a press conference held on Thursday, his voice carrying the weight of official resolve.

In emphasizing the importance of dialogue as a means to resolve tensions, Mwaura appealed directly to parents, urging them to take the lead in guiding their children away from violence. “We have said we are ready for dialogue but as parents let us start by talking to our children at our homes,” he emphasized, stressing the crucial role of familial influence in fostering peace.

Mwaura’s plea for national unity was poignant, cautioning against actions that could jeopardize the stability and heritage of the country. “Let us not destroy our country, we do not have another country that we love and which we have inherited from our forefathers and freedom fighters just because of problems that can be addressed,” he passionately articulated, underscoring the need for collective responsibility.

Turning to the media, Mwaura affirmed the government’s stance on press freedom, calling for objective reporting amidst the ongoing protests. “We will be ready to have that conversation with you so we can be assured, free of judgment, that you will perform your duties effectively,” he assured, acknowledging the pivotal role of media in informing the public and maintaining transparency.

Throughout his address, Mwaura exuded a sense of urgency tempered with a call for calm and dialogue, reflecting the government’s readiness to engage constructively with the nation’s challenges. His words aimed to quell unrest and inspire confidence in the government’s commitment to resolve issues through peaceful means.
