Wednesday’s reception of the delegation from the County of Bouches du Rhône at the Kenya House, is in appreciation of a great partnership born through the Olympics, facilitated through the National Olympic Committee Of Kenya, a journey that started three years ago.
The County of Bouches du Rhône, through the City of Miramas funded the Team Kenya pre-olympic base camp in Miramas, which has enabled our athletes to access state-of-the-art training facilities, which enabled Kenyan teams to prepare adequately for qualifications.
The teams including Shujaa successfully got reinstated into the HSBC Sevens World Series after training in Miramas, the National 3 by 3 basketball ladies also trained in Miramas and after that qualified for the African Championships, they then proceeded to the World 3 by 3 qualifications in Japan, but were not successful.
This is the beginning of further cooperation between Kenya and France, anchored in sports that will see further trade relations, tourism between the two countries, and youth development through job creation. Ends
