“NO BLOOD ON MY HAND” PRESIDENT RUTO SAYS.
When addressing journalists this evening at Statehouse Nairobi, President Ruto claimed that he had no blood on his hands following the recent killings by police during the antitax protests.
According to the President he told the media that the police acted on their own way without orders from the statehouse. This only comes after the report of The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) which showed that over 25 people were killed, 300 injuries, 38 abductions and over 54 arrests. With the recent one being shooting of innocent 12 year old boy at Ongata Rongai who nursed 8 bullets on the body in a crossfire between the police and the protesters. The President went ahead to dispute the numbers as a cooked and not true.
The head of State later went ahead to defend the deployment of KDF to quell the riot , claiming that it was necessary considering the attack at the parliament and the judiciary offices. “How did the criminals know there was an armory and mausoleum in Parliament and went straight , indicating they were organized crimes,” he refuted .
When asked about the demands from social media enthusiasts for his resignation dupped with hashtag #RutoMustGo the President said, “I have a job to do. Citizens are free to engage in discourse that they want but those are fruits and signs of democracy.”
This happens only days after the Head of State publicly announced that he would not assent to the controversial Finance Bill which caused mayhem across the regions in the country.
When also addressing the public today the President agreed to scrap off the office of the spouses of the dignitaries to cut costs of expenditure in the country.
He later stated that rejecting the finance bill came with implications because the country has to borrow an addition of 1 trillion shillings to finance the country’s projects.
