FAMOUS POLITICIANS HIRED GOONS DURING ANTITAX PROTESTS IN KENYA.

Sources reported that approximately 500 individuals armed with crude weapons were transported from Kayole and strategically deployed across various locations in Nairobi after allegedly receiving substantial payments. Similarly, another group of 1,000 demonstrators, also armed, arrived from Mathare, with an additional contingent of 300 transported from Embakasi South.

In addition, sources indicated that hundreds of demonstrators were allegedly ferried from Kawangware and purportedly paid handsomely by a prominent politician. Their purported mission was to join a group of approximately 100 street youths, aiming to vandalize shops and confront law enforcement personnel. To maintain anonymity and avoid detection, some were reportedly transported via motorcycles, while those originating from Eastlands disembarked at City Stadium and entered the city in small, inconspicuous groups.

According to the sources, some of these individuals arrived on Monday night and stayed overnight in Nairobi Central District, while others arrived as early as 6 a.m., strategically positioning themselves to maximize the impact of their actions.

Further details suggested that individuals from Mukuru kwa Njenga walked to the city center, focusing their activities primarily along Eastern By Pass. Reports from eyewitnesses, including a trader who preferred anonymity, described how individuals armed with tools such as grinding machines and hacksaws used them to forcefully enter and loot shops, including prominent supermarkets like Quickmart on Ronald Ngala Street, Carrefour in Nairobi CBD, and Naivas on Moi Avenue.

The downtown area of Nairobi bore the brunt of the violence, with shops extensively looted and merchandise worth millions of shillings stolen during the chaotic events.
