RUTO MOVES ADEN DUALE TO ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY AS SOIPAN TUYA TAKES DEFENCE
President William Ruto has recently announced adjustments to his Cabinet nominees, with Soipan Tuya appointed to the Defence Ministry and Aden Duale reassigned to the Ministry of Environment.
This communication was conveyed to Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula amidst Wetang’ula’s own announcement of the names of 11 cabinet secretary nominees nominated by President Ruto for his restructured Cabinet.
Following this announcement, the nominees’ names have been forwarded to the Committee on Appointments. This committee is tasked with conducting thorough vetting and is expected to present a detailed report on each nominee within 28 days.
Aden Duale, upon his reassignment, expressed appreciation to President Ruto.
“I am grateful to President William Ruto for reassigning me from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts.”
The 11 Cabinet nominees now await vetting by the National Assembly include; Kithure Kindiki ,Debra Mulongo Barasa , Aden Duale, Davis Chirchir, Soipan Tuya, Eric Muga, Julius Migosi ,Alice Wahome, Dr Andrew Karanja, Dr Margaret Ndungu, Rebecca Miano as the Attorney General.
After the vetting, parliament will take the names of the cabinet nominees to the whole house, which will then approve or reject the nominees.
If the National Assembly approves any or all of the nominees, the Speaker will submit a report to the President.
