SIAYA HIGH COURT JUDGE DANIEL OGEMBO DIES
Presiding Judge of Siaya High Court Justice succumbs at Siaya Wednesday morning, police sources have confirmed. His death is shockingly very close home; the Governor of Siaya condoled the deceased, a very distinguished figure who served diligently in service within that County.
“I join all of us in the Bench to mourn the shocking demise of Honourable Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola who was presiding over at Siaya High Court. Justice Ogembo had this marvelous ability to listen intently, reflect calmly, and then he would chip in-usually in very few words-which brought clarity in the courtroom. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” expressed the Governor.
Justice Ogembo began his judicial journey in 2004 as a Magistrate, which marked the beginning of justice; that is how he started his career in justice. In 2016, he became the High Court Judge, which he fairly deserved as acceptance of his legal intelligence and commitment.
He initially served at Eldoret High Court and Milimani High Court before moving to Siaya High Court. Among his academic achievements are L.L.M in International Studies, Master of Laws, and LL.B, both from the University of Nairobi, while Post Graduate Diploma in Law was from the Kenya School of Law.
Justice Ogembo practices were admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1993 for another ten years before moving to the bench. His death comes only a week after the judiciary expressed shock over the demise of yet another senior colleague, High Court Judge David Majanja, who died at a Nairobi hospital on July 10.
Justice Daniel Ogembo’s legacy remains that of dedication to justice, integrity, and the pursuit of truth within the judicial system. His great contributions to the legal fraternity and service to the community in which he served are very hard to replace and shall leave a chasm not easily filled.
