“NO GUNSHOT WOUNDS IN KWARE BODIES,” DR. JOHANSEN ODUOR ,GOVERNMENT PATHOLOGIST

Chief Government Pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor reported that none of the 13 bodies recovered from the Kware dump site in Mukuru slums showed bullet wounds. However, one of the 13 showed head injuries, and another had been strangled. The search continues, with so far nine body bags containing human remains, including limbs amputated from the knees downwards.

“There was also a whole body of a female who we examined and we found that she had a head injury,” Oduor noted. Three other bodies, parts of female bodies from the waist to the knee, were also found.

There were evident ligature marks along the upper trunk, from the waist upwards. The cause of death, according to Dr. Oduor, was difficult to establish as a result of the stages at which the decomposition of the bodies was found. For the considerably decomposed bodies, cases of severe tissue loss were established; therefore, Dr. Oduor explained that it is difficult to attribute the cause of death to such cases.

One female body was intact, not decomposed. This one showed some evidence of head injuries. The other female was only decomposed to the upper trunk. This body had ligature marks on the neck, showing evidence of strangulation. X-rays of the head, as well as other body parts, are currently undergoing analysis. This process will take some time.

In another report, police were investigating Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, a suspect linked to the murder of 42 women in Kware, Nairobi. Some of the items that have been recovered from his house include a blood-stained hammer, kitchen knives, women’s shoes, and a gunny bag. Other items detectives recovered in suspect’s house include a dressing mirror with his fingerprints, a blood-stained pillow, ropes, a red t-shirt, and a notebook with hospital receipts.

Khalusha admits to having killed ten women this year only by luring them from the streets, raping and later killing them. He is said to have strangled his victims, thrown the bodies in his house, dismembered them, and then dumped them at the Kware site, about 500 meters from his house.
