FIRST LADY RACHEL RUTO LINKS KWARE DUMP SITE BODIES TO GENDER BASED VIOLENCE AND CONDEMNS VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

First Lady Rachel Ruto has finally responded following the shocking discovery of mutilated bodies in Kware, area within the Mukuru Kwa Njenga Slums in Embakasi South, Nairobi. In her social media X, Rachel termed the incident very heartbreaking.

“The discovery of the mutilated bodies of young women dumped in Kware, Nairobi, is so dismaying and only saddening. Each of these ladies was somebody’s child, sister, or even a friend, and no one deserves to go through such cruelty. Violence has to stop in our country against our women. Our thoughts and prayers are for the families of the victims. No parent should ever have to bury their child, especially under such circumstances,” she said.

The discovery has sent shockwaves in the community amid concerns over safety and whether more victims could be lying somewhere. A team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the police in Embu have launched investigations to unravel the mystery of the deaths to establish the identities of the victims and the cause.

Investigations have now centered on a quarry near the Kware Police Station. Residents expressed shock and disbelief at the shocking discovery. Many are now demanding improved security and a probe into the incident to ensure perpetrators are brought to book.

The police have hence made an appeal for information from whosoever may be of importance to enable them in the investigation process. Patrols were intensified to ensure the security of residents and ensure that such cases do not recur.

The incident brings to the fore long-standing challenges facing the police in dealing with violent crime and ensuring general safety to the public. The engaged agencies, DCI and the police, locally are working day and night, ironing everything out to ensure that the black clouds of the bereaved families are wiped off.

The community is on high alert, generally, as investigation continues with hope for speedy justice, and this tragic event is brought to an end. Police authorities are determined to see whoever is behind the heinous crime brought to book, and that it never happens again.

Meanwhile, the families of the victims are trying to mourn their deceased loved ones and seek closure. The community expressed support for them by showing solidarity during this trying moment.

The DCI and police have sworn that no effort shall be spared in efforts to ensure justice. They are ready to get hold of the culprits, prosecute them, and give justice to the victims and their families.
