Subject: Formal Appeal Regarding Hooliganism and Poor Officiating in the Shabana FC vs. Gor Mahiya FC Match
Dear Sir,
I am writing to you with a deep sense of concern regarding the recent Shabana FC vs. Gor Mahia FC match. Specifically, I wish to draw your attention to a series of hooliganism incidents and poor officiating that marred the game. These issues demand immediate attention and action.
1. *Hooliganism and Security Concerns*:
During the match, a distressing outbreak of hooliganism unfolded, initiated by the supporters of our opponents immediately after the first-half whistle. This resulted in several Shabana FC supporters falling victim to physical assaults, with one individual currently fighting for their life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Given the gravity of this situation, it is paramount that we ensure the well-being of football enthusiasts and bolster stadium security. In light of the conduct witnessed, we earnestly appeal to Gor Mahiya FC to shoulder the responsibility for covering the medical expenses of the affected casualties, addressing the costs incurred for the damages inflicted upon the stadium, and accepting the appropriate penalties in accordance with the regulations set by our football federation.
2. *Poor Officiating and Biased Decisions*:
Furthermore, I must express my profound disappointment regarding the evident poor officiating and questionable decisions that marred the match at Kasarani. It is imperative that we impartially scrutinize such officiating, irrespective of our affiliations to specific clubs. Allowing these issues to persist poses a significant threat to the advancement of our football industry. It is disheartening to witness scenarios where players(Silas Shihemi) receive unjust yellow cards for routine actions such as qualifying for a throw-in, among other similar incidents With the worst scenario being a straight red card to player (Absalom Adunda), These occurrences are stark examples of the challenges we face, and it is deeply troubling that individuals who exhibit unresponsiveness and fail to uphold the sport’s integrity continue to serve as officials, hindering the growth of our cherished sport.
In relation to this, we appeal for a professional review of the straight red card shown to the player Absalom Aduda and request its immediate revocation. Such actions not only impact the club but also diminish the player’s esteem.
Lastly, we appeal as Team Shabana for a thorough evaluation of the two officials, namely Mr. Mpaima and the center referee Mr. Brooks, based on the openly biased conduct and behavior observed during the match. Therefore, as you consider our appeal, we strongly recommend that these two officials are not permitted to officiate any Shabana fixtures henceforth.
In light of the gravity of these matters, we implore that they be addressed urgently and with the seriousness they merit. The future of football in our region is contingent on our collective commitment to eradicating hooliganism and ensuring fair, unbiased officiating. Your prompt attention to these issues is greatly anticipated.
Yours sincerely,
Elizaphan Kerama.
Secretary General Shabana FC.
