Kenya Premier League side Shabana’s head coach Sammy Okoth is a man under siege.

His side has gone four games without a win in the current KPL campaign and the club’s loyal fans are restless.

After losing 1-0 against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday, fans questioned his tactics, fielding, and substitutions.

They wondered why players who signed during the pre-season transfer window are yet to make their debut for the Glamour Boys. The fans also wondered why the team always concedes in the 90th minute.

The coach admitted that he was equally frustrated by mistakes from his players and the conceding of goals in the 90th minute.

“I don’t know what I can do to change this trend. It’s frustrating. The fans are justified to complain,” said the coach.

He spoke amid reports that he has two games to save his job. A member of the club’s executive committee hinted that if the club does not pick crucial points against AFC Leopards and Tusker in the next two games, their association with Okoth will be reconsidered.

Shabana plays AFC Leopards on Sunday at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata, Nairobi. The club’s secretary general Elizaphan Kerama has asked the club’s fans for patience.

“I understand the pain they are undergoing. However, I want to ask for their patience,” said Kerama.

At Kenya Police, head coach Francis Baraza is also under pressure following a poor run.

He has been sent on leave and his assistant Salim Babu taken over for the next few weeks.

At Sofapaka, former player-coach Ezekiel Akwana has returned to the club as a second assistant.
