Former Energy CS Charles Keter has appointed by The Head of State as his advisor. Charlse Keter will serve as Ruto’s advisor on Great Lakes Region Affairs.  The appointment was confirmed by State House Press Secretary Emmansuel Talam.  

He served in different ministries as either assistant minister or minister. He was in 2015 appointed as the CS for Energy, to serve in former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.

He has previously served as MP and Senator in Kericho County. Keter, who had quietly disappeared from the public now makes a comeback into government, after unsuccessfully seeking the Kericho governor seat in the August 2022 General Election.

Keter resigned from cabinet in 2022 to vie for Kericho governor seat but he lost in the UDA nominations to Eric Mutai, who is now the governor.
