Kenya Premier League returnees Shabana have signed four players, according to the club’s vice chairman Wycliffe Ayienda.
Ayienda said former Bandari FC striker Johanna Mwita and defender Rodgers Aloro are among the players who have joined the Glamour Boys.
The two were released by Bandari alongside 12 others in the current transfer window.
Others are former Kakamega Homeboyz left back Hillary Wandera and Nzoia Sugar FC defender Prince Ayieko.
“We already have six new faces training with us. So far only four have agreed terms with us. We are currently negotiating with the rest. We expect four more players to join our training camp before the end of the week,” said Ayienda.
He added: “We have made a deliberate effort to go for experienced players. The players we have signed have played for more than two teams in the Kenya Premier League. These are players who will add value to our team.”
The club’s initial targets Douglas Mokaya joined Bidco United, Duke Abuya signed for Singida Fountain while Charles Momanyi opted to remain at Tusker after signing a new contract.
Ayienda added: “We are seeking to strengthen all positions with players who will help us compete in the top tier league.”
Shabana has already parted ways with striker Cornelius Juma who has returned to Kenya Police, Dennis Wafula, Nigerians Prince Mito and Adevie Derima.
Shabana will open their campaign against newly promoted Murang’a Seal on August 27 at their temporary home ground William ole Ntimama stadium in Narok County.
