AFC Leopards on Wednesday defended under-fire head coach Tom Joma.

In a statement, the club’s executive committee expressed their full confidence in the tactician amid calls for his sacking just three matches into the new season.

“The management of the club is pleased to announce its unwavering confidence in the leadership of the technical bench headed by Tom Juma,” the club said in a statement.

The management said the club remains committed to achieving its goals and aspirations. “We trust that the technical bench is well equipped to guide us towards victors,” they said.

The club added that Juma and his team have been working tirelessly to prepare the squad for success this season.

“Their dedication and expertise are instrumental in achieving our goals. We anticipate excellent results in the upcoming matches. We call upon our dedicated fans to remain optimistic and continue supporting the team passionately,” the executive committee said.

They concluded: “Your unwavering support is the driving force behind our success and together we can achieve greatness and make the season one to remember.”

The club remains winless in the FKF Premier League and is yet to find the back of the net after three outings. The club has lost one game and drawn two.

On Saturday, angry AFC Leopards fans booed the team off the field and demanded Juma’s resignation after being held to a barren draw by Muhoroni Youth.

Ingwe will entertain fellow strugglers Kenya Police in the next fixture as the teams look for their first win of the season.
