Kenya’s National Under 20 team Rising Starlets sailed to the next round of Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after a 4-0 win over Angola.

Kenya won the tie 9-1 on aggregate and will now face Cameroon. Cameroon eliminated Botswana in the second-round qualifier. Cameroon defeated 6-1 on aggregate to book a date with Kenya.

During the second leg played in Angola on Saturday, Valerie Nekesa, Rebecca Kwoba, Ann Arusi, and Charity Midewa were on target for the Rising Starlets.

Kenya will play Cameroon in Yaoundé on November 10 while the return leg will be played at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on November 17.

Coach Beldine Odemba praised the girls for the brave show against Angola which saw them win one and away.

It’s the second time Kenya will face Cameroon this year. In September, Kenya’s Harambee Starlets beat Cameroon’s next round of the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers. Kenya will face Botswana.

Meanwhile, in the Football Kenya Federation National Super League, Kisumu All-Starlets beat local rivals KISPED, Queens  2-0 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu in the Dala Derby.

Bose Oraro Monica Etot scored for Kisumu All Starlets which was relegated from the Women’s Premier League last season. The team is plotting a quick return to the WPL this season.
