Two Al-shabaab militants have died and several others injured following a bomb explosion on Amuma-Ruqa Road in Garissa County.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) referred to the morning incident as “karma” claiming that the terrorists had planted the explosive device with the intention of targeting police officers and innocent bystanders.

The DCI reported “A gang of Al-shabaab militants who were installing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along a road in Garissa County got a taste of their own medicine when the IED exploded killing two of them on the spot, while others ran from the site with life-threatening injuries”.
