The Kenya National U18 boy’s team, Junior Stars, coach Salim Babu has provided the provisional squad for the upcoming CECAFA U18 tournament.
The team consists of a blend of school team players and those who participate in various tournaments and FKF-run leagues in the country.
An FKF-PL contingent of Kariobangi Sharks’ quartet of Stanley Wilson, Mathew Kibiwott, Kelvin Wanyanga, and Evans Aroko, Ulinzi Star’s Lucas Maina, Shabana’s Delphine Omuri and Kakamega Homeboyz’ Ibrahim Wanzala would add much-needed experience.
Additionally, 11 FKF-NSL players from Rainbow, Mombasa Star’s, and Migori Youth will also add experience to the side.
KSSSA champions St. Anthony’s and finalists Shanderema School produced six and three players respectively. Most notably, former St. Anthony’s forward Adrian Kibet who is currently USA based, and Shanderema duo of Mark Shaban and Kelly Madada.
Kakamega School’s Green Commandos provides four players led by captains Jack Ongaya and Clement Kawere.
Also, Chapa Dimba tournament stand-out player Derrick Oketch from Ebwali Secondary School makes the squad.
The CECAFA U18 tournament kicks off on November 25th in Kisumu and Kakamega.
