Bottom of the Nzoia Sugar upset second-placed Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) 1-0 in an FKF Premier League match played in Nairobi on Thursday.

Mohammed Barisa scored the lone goal for the Cane Millers. It was Barisa’s third goal of the season as Nzoia recorded their third win of the campaign.

“This win means a lot for us. We have finished the year on a winning note and I’m impressed by the way the boys played today. It’s a morale-boosting win,” said Oduor Godfrey, the Nzoia coach.

Keith Imbali grabbed a brace while Godfrey Onyango added the third as Kariobangi Sharks drubbed Talanta 3-0.

Elsewhere, Bidco United edged Shabana 1-0 at Thika Municipal  Stadium. Eugene Ikutwa scored Bidco in the 86th minute after he was put through by Chris Opondo.

Shabana’s interim coach Caleb Aringa said a draw would have been a fair result for his charges.

“It was a bad day in the office. We now take a break and focus on the next game against Muhoroni Youth on January 6,” said Aringa.

Posta Rangers defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-0. Patrick Otieno and Brian Otieno scored for the Mailmen. Ulinzi Stars’ Hillary Simiyu missed a penalty in the game that was played at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

On Friday, Kakamega Homeboyz will seek to bounce back to winning ways when they host on form Nairobi City Stars at Bukhungu Stadium while log leaders will entertain Bandari at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
