AFC Leopards will miss the services of four players in Saturday’s fixture against bottom-of-the-log Sofapaka at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the club said Lewis Bandi and Abubakar Musha will be out for a period of three months as they recuperate from a surgical procedure they had earlier this week to repair their meniscus.
Also missing are goalkeeper Levis Opiyo, who will resume training next week after recovering from a knee injury and Nyakeya has recovered from a calf muscle injury but will be out recovering from malaria.
Captain Washington Munene has already resumed training after recovering from an ankle injury but is unlikely to be available.
In an earlier game to be played at 1 pm at the same venue, struggling Shabana will face log leaders Posta Rangers as the Glamour Boys seek their third win of the season.
Shabana team manager Jared Sani said they will welcome dependable defender Absolom Aduda who was sent off during the game against Gor Mahia.
Sani confirmed that the club will miss the services of midfielder Peter Ogechi, forward Isaac Otieno aka Otile, and defender Hillary Wandera.
Wandera has only played three games since he joined the Glamour Boys from Kakamega Homeboyz.
“We are ready for the game against Posta Rangers. We have had good training for the last two weeks. We are looking forward to a positive result,” said Sani.
Interim coach Oscar Kambona will be in charge of the Glamour Boys in what is expected to be his last game in charge.
The club’s management is expected to unveil a new coach by Saturday after the conclusion of interviews on Thursday.
