National Super League newcomers Luanda Villa FC has suspended defender Gerishom Arabe for one month due to gross misconduct, incitement, and insubordination.
“Following our joint meeting between the executive committee and technical bench on October 23, 2023, it was resolved that you be suspended for one month due to gross misconduct, incitement, and insubordination, an action which can badly influence other members of the playing unit which compromises your conduct as a player,” secretary general Benson Anima said in his letter to Arabe.
Anima added in his letter: “You are therefore not supposed to act or play for Luanda Villa during the one-month suspension. You will remain on the radar of the executive committee until the lifting of the suspension.”
According to a source at the club, Arabe was at the forefront of seeking their salaries and allowances since the club was promoted to the second-tier league.
Further, the club issued warning letters to three players who allegedly participated in an unsanctioned tournament.
Defender Gregory Shikanga and striker Timothy Ndayala Lumasai were warned f for participating in an illegal tournament while Samuel Maya was warned for unsporting behavior during the team’s training.
The team under the tutelage of Tom Tera will face Kibera Black Stars at Vapour grounds in Nairobi seeking to bounce back after going four games without a win.
The team remains unbeaten and sits 10th on the log after six games. They have won one and drawn five games so far.
