National Super League side Mara Sugar has suffered a blow yet again after coach Vincent Nyaberi resigned.
This comes barely two months after another coach Francis Xavier resigned to join Sofapaka as an assistant coach. Nyaberi is set to join Mully Children’s Family (MCF) as head coach.
“Nyaberi has already signed a two years contract at MCF. He is set to tender his resignation at Mara Sugar on Friday and join MCF,” said a source.
When contacted, Nyaberi declined to confirm the reports. “I have just completed today’s training. The team is ready for their weekend fixture against Gusii FC, the boys are ready. Since I joined the team, we have won two games out of two. On the issue, of resigning, I don’t want to comment,” said Nyaberi.
Nyaberi helped Murang’a Seal qualify for the FKF Premier League but was sacked and replaced by Gabriel Kingi Njoroge.
Nyaberi will take over from Robert Arasa Orangi who was sacked by the Yatta-based side on Monday after a poor run in the league.
On Sunday, MCF will host the unbeaten Luanda Villa at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Coach Nyaberi is expected to attend the game.
Last weekend, Mara Sugar defeated MCF 3-0 with Philemon Nyakwaka scoring a hattrick. MCF sits bottom of the log with a paltry seven points from 11 games.
They have so far won one game, drawn four, and lost five since the season began.
