FKF Premier League side Nairobi City Stars will not make major signings in the mid-season transfer window which opens in January.
The club’s chief executive officer Patrick Korir unless there are any departures, they are unlikely to make any signings.
“The team has peaked at the right time. We have at least two players in each position so we shall not do any signings unless a player leaves in the January transfer window,” said Korir.
Simba wa Nairobi has been in fine form winning four games on the trot. In their last fixture of the year, they beat Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium.
Wycliffe Omondi scored the all-important goal. City Stars sits sixth on the log with 27 points from 16 games. They will face Talanta FC on match day 17 at Kasarani Annex on January 6.
They will resume training for the second leg on Friday from the festive season break.
At the same time, he announced that Japanese Yuto Kusaba would be available for Simba wa Nairobi. He joined City Stars in August from Division 2 side Zenshin FC.
He is expected at the team’s training ground on Friday. The Japanese was signed by the club but did not feature in the first leg because he was signed when the international transfer window had already been closed.
“He is already in the country and will be available for selection once the transfer window opens in January. We are all excited to have him in our team,” said Korir. He will become the first Japanese to play in the Kenya Premier League.
