Shabana will become the third club in Kenya to implement online ticketing in the FKF Premier League.

Club President Jared Nivaton Ombongi on Monday said plans are at an advanced stage to implement a cashless system.

“We are working on online ticketing. We want to do it as soon as possible. This will end ticketing issues that have cropped up in the recent past,” said Ombongi when he spoke to reporters in Kisii town.

Already, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, have introduced online ticketing. Though there were hiccups at the beginning, the cashless ticketing has been a success.

“We want to learn lessons from Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards so that we avoid hiccups,” said Ombongi.

He admitted that the club lost thousands of shillings during their game against Gor Mahia at Moi International Sports Center three weeks ago.

“The issue is being investigated by the DCI and those found guilty will be charged. Any Shabana employee or official involved will carry his own cross,” he added.

On the recruitment of a new coach, Ombongi said the process is ongoing. “We hope to get a new coach in place in the next 10 days. We have already recruited a competent physiotherapist who also has experience in strength and conditioning,” noted Ombongi.

Further Ombongi said they have constituted a panel to look at CVs of more than 30 coaches who applied for the position which fell vacant after the sacking of Sammy Okoth.

“We want to recruit a head coach, assistant coach, and goalkeeper coach,” he revealed. The club also parted ways with goalkeeper coach Collins Oduor while assistant coach Kevin Momanyi was demoted to the club’s youth team.
