Troubled Shabana faces a herculean task against FKF Premier League Champions Gor Mahia on Wednesday as the league enters matchday nine.

Shabana has had a stuttering start to the season and sits 16th on the log. The team’s woes were compounded on Sunday when coach Sammy Okoth resigned and on Monday rescinded his decision.

Club secretary general Elizaphan Kerama on Tuesday said Okoth who guided the team back to the Kenya Premier League will be in charge of the game against Gor Mahia. “He trained the team on Monday and Tuesday morning,” said Kerama.

The second-placed Gor Mahia is likely to miss the services of Rwandan defender Emery Bayisenge, compatriot Patrick Sibomana, and Ugandan midfielder Patrick Sibomana.

Shabana has a fully fit squad ahead of the Gor Mahia clash with defender Hillary Wandera expected to fill the porous left-back position.

The game will be played at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani and will be live on Azam TV.

At Kasarani Annex, Budco United and Muhoroni Youth will battle it out as Talanta FC welcomes struggling Nzoia Sugar at Ruaraka sports ground.

At Ulinzi Sports Complex, AFC Leopards will hope for their first win of the season when they entertain Kariobangi Sharks at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata.

Bandari hosts Kenya Police at Mbaraki Sports while Murang’a Seal and Nairobi City Stars will face off at SportsPesa Arena in Murang’a.

Nairobi City Stars chief executive officer Patrick Korir was unhappy with the teams’ performance against KCB.

“The defense and midfield pairing did not work in the recent three games. The coach must do something,” said Korir.

Tusker will be at home against Ulinzi Stars in a game expected to be explosive as third-placed KCB faces Sofapaka. At Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Kakamega Homeboyz and log leaders will collide. ends
