Midfielder Shami Kibwana has become the fifth player to leave FKF Premier League side Tusker FC in this transfer window.
Kibwana was one of the top performers for the brewers last season where he chipped in with important goals as they lost the league title by a point to Gor Mahia.
Confirming his departure, Tusker noted: “Another great servant leaves the club. Midfielder Shami Mwinyi departs after two seasons, having joined the team from Kakamega Homeboyz at the start of the 2020-21 campaign. Thank you for the memories Shami!” Tusker said in a statement.
The player who has been linked with a return to Kakamega Homeboyz leaves just a day after the club confirmed that goalkeeper Michael Wanjala’s four-season association with them was coming to an end.
“Goalkeeper Michael Wanjala will leave the club after four seasons. He arrived just before the 2019-20 season from Bungoma Superstars. Mike played a crucial role as we clinched the title in the 2020-21 season. All the best Mike in your new adventure!” Tusker said.
Apart from Kibwana and Wanjala, the club had earlier confirmed the departure of Jackson Macharia, Kevin Monyi and Kalos Kirenge.
