Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has called up Dennis Ng’ang’a to the Kenya national team ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles.
Ng’ang’a comes in place of Joseph Okumu who will wait to pass a late fitness test, subject to his release from his parent club Stade Reims. Okumu picked up a knock in Stade Reims’ French Ligue 1 match against PSG.
Defender Daniel Anyembe has also been ruled out of the two qualifiers owing to an injury he sustained at club level.
Eric Ouma, in the meantime, is in camp but will wait to be assessed by the team’s medical staff to determine whether he could play a part in the qualifiers. Ouma sustained a knock in his last match for his club in Sweden.
The rest of the squad is however fit and ready for the first match scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Stade de la Rénovation de Franceville at 7 pm EAT.
The team will depart for Gabon on Wednesday, November 15, at 8 am EAT and will arrive at 11 am EAT.
After their match against Gabon, they will travel to Abidjan, Ivory Coast for the match against Seychelles on Friday, November 17, 2023.
