AFC Leopards coach Thomas Trucha reckons that Posta Rangers poses a threat to them ahead of their FKF Premier League clash on Sunday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

“It looks like their coach finally found an understanding with his players which was visible in their league opener against Bandari FC. We respect our opponents   and we must do our best to show that our win against Mathare United was not a fluke,” said Trucha.

AFC Leopards sits pretty on the top of the league table after beating league returnees Mathare United 4-0 in the opening fixture before breaking for the 2 weeks international break.

On the international break, coach Trucha said: “We had three different sessions during this break. We first had to recover from the rigorous pre-season we had and secondly was the fitness part where we had to recharge batteries and finally prepare for our next league match. We have played three friendly matches during this period to give all our players game time and test different players’ combinations.”

“It is always a reward to players for their hard work during the season to be called to represent their country and also feedback for us coaches that we are pushing our players to have national team quality.

We are a big club, and we must be prepared to have players in the national team. On the other hand , having players in the national team also comes with the risk of injuries,” he added.

Trucha however noted that the international break sometimes has negative effects on the team. “When your team have good record with positive results the break can have a  negative impact but if you are on a bad run gives you time a good as a coach to bring players back to the winning track,” he noted.
