Betika on Tuesday announced the extension of its sponsorship team, Football Kenya Federation Division One side GFE 105.
After a successful partnership last season, where the leading Kenyan bookmaker sponsored the team with Ksh 1million, the company has decided to significantly increase its support by tripling the sponsorship amount to Ksh3 million for the upcoming season.
In addition to the financial sponsorship, the team will receive a further boost in the form of brand-new playing kits—home, away, and a third alternative kits and playing balls—ensuring that the Eldoret-based outfit is ready for the upcoming season.
Speaking at the kit presentation event, Eric Mwiti the Senior Brand Manager at Betika, said: ” We recognize the transformative power of sports in enhancing lives and fostering community connections, and we are proud to contribute to the development of football in Kenya. Having joined the campaign midway through last season, we are pleased with the team’s performance and remain optimistic that, with this additional support, they will be well-equipped to strengthen their competitiveness and pursue promotion.”
Last season, GFE 105’s dreams of reclaiming their place in the National Super League (NSL) were dashed after finishing in third in the FKF Division One Zone B. The team aims to mount an even more successful campaign this season to regain its position in the second tier of football in Kenya.
GFE 105’s Chairman Shem Mburu said: “Securing consistent and substantial sponsorship for grassroots football teams in Kenya presents a considerable challenge. Many talented players and teams struggle to reach their full potential due to financial constraints and limited resources. With the new kits and increased financial support, we are confident that we can build on last season’s performance and work towards reclaiming our place in the NSL. At this level of our football, few clubs have the privilege of enjoying such sponsorship.”
On top of its numerous engagements in grassroots football, Betika’s involvement at the topmost level is noticeable.
Currently, Betika is the shirt sponsor for the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) sides AFC Leopards and Kenya Police FC. Ends
