Nairobi City Stars midfielder Clifford Otieno has been called up to the national team Harambee Stars for the first-leg 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) CECAFA qualifier match against South Sudan.

Otieno a late call up replaces Kenya Police midfielder Kenneth Muguna has been ruled out of the squad after failing a late fitness test.

Rising Stars goalkeeper Ibrahim Wanzala also earned his first call up the senior national team.

 Harambee Stars  departed for South Sudan ahead of the game on Friday morning. The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Juba International Stadium, with kickoff at 3 PM EAT.

The return leg will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 4 PM EAT at Mandela National Stadium in Uganda.
