The FKF Premier League season concludes on Sunday with three teams engaged in a fierce battle to avoid relegation.
Shabana, Sofapaka, and Muhoroni Youth are engaged in a battle to remain in the FKF Premier League. Already, Nzoia Sugar has been relegated to the FKF National Super League.
Ahead of the last games of the season, Shabana is 15th on the log having accumulated 35 points while Sofapaka is 16th with 33 points while Muhoroni Youth sits 17th having garnered 31 points.
On Wednesday, Shabana boosted their chances of survival after drubbing Bidco United 3-0 thanks to Alvin Ochieng Ochieng, Brian Michira and Lyson Kavuchi’s strikes at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
“We have another hurdle against Murang’a Seal and we want to finish strong on Sunday to stay safe. I want to thank our fans I request them to turn up in large numbers to cheer us on Sunday,” said Shabana coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo.
Separately, Sofapaka’s chances were dealt a blow after a 1-1 draw against Nairobi City Stars while Muhoroni Youth walloped relegated Nzoia Sugar 6-0.
On Sunday, Shabana travels to Murang’a County for a game against Murang’a Seals while Muhoroni Youth will battle Posta Rangers. Shabana, which is safe from automatic relegation, needs a point to avoid the drop.
If Shabana loses to Murang’a Seal and Sofapaka wins against Nzoia, Shabana will from to the play off place. If Shabana wins of draws against Murang’a Seals, Sofapaka will settle for a play off slot.
The best Muhoroni Youth FC can achieve is a playoffs spot if Sofapaka lose or draw against Nzoia Sugar FC.
