FKF Premier League has asked clubs to look for alternative grounds following the closure of Nyayo National Stadium, Moi International Sports Center Kasarani, and other facilities ahead of 2025 CHAN.

The federation told clubs to explore the possibility of using stadiums such as Moi Stadium (Embu), Moi Kinoru Stadium (Meru), Kirigiti Stadium (Kiambu), Siaya Stadium (Siaya), Wanguru Stadium (Kirinyaga), and Mpesa Foundation Stadium (Thika) from next season.

According to a statement from FKF, recently, a CAF delegation visited Kenya to assess infrastructure and evaluate Kenya’s capability to co-host the CHAN tournament scheduled for early next year alongside Uganda and Tanzania.

“As a result of this inspection, the following facilities have been earmarked for specific purposes, Nyayo Stadium was identified as potential venue for group matches while Kasarani Annex, Police Sacco Stadium, and Ulinzi Sports Complex were identified as potential training venues.

“These facilities are scheduled to undergo renovations to meet the standards recommended by the CAF delegation. The exact commencement date for these renovations will be communicated in due course,” said the federation in a statement.

The federation said the venues may soon become unavailable for FKF Premier League matches.

“In light of this, we strongly advise all clubs to proactively explore alternative facilities for inspection and potential use,” said the statement from the football governing body.

“We encourage you to initiate the process of identifying and securing alternative venues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to our league schedule.

FKF will provide further updates as more information becomes available. Additionally, there is a planned season opener meeting whose date shall also be communicated in due course,” said the federation.
