The long wait is over.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League returns to Gusii Stadium on Saturday after 18 years when Shabana FC takes on Posta Rangers.

Shabana has been given a go ahead to host their home games at Gusii Stadium following an inspection by the football governing body.

Shabana has been playing their home games at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

They also played some games at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani and Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Shabana Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama said it’s a sigh of relief for the Glamour Boys.

On Wednesday morning, Sammy Omollo’s charges had a feel of the stadium. Omollo said playing their home games at Gusii Stadium is a welcome move.

“This is an added advantage and I want to appeal to our fans to turn up large numbers and support the team. We need the 12th player,” said Omollo.

The club has boosted their attacking options by signing Darius Msagha from Sofapaka. He is expected to make his debut against Posta Rangers on Saturday.

Shabana remains winless in two games so far. Last weekend, they played to a 2-2 draw against Ulinzi Stars while in the opening game, they battled to a 1-1 draw against Bidco FC.

At the same time, Shabana chairman Jared Nivaton has asked the club’s fans to shun hooliganism.

Nivaton says they have been slapped with Sh500, 000 fine after fans uprooted seats at Ulinzi Sports Complex during their game. “I want to appeal to our fans to conduct themselves with decorum during our games regardless of the results,” said Nivaton. Ends
