Harambee Stars has been drawn in a tough Group J of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers.
Kenya will be up giants Cameroon, Namibia, and Zimbabwe in a bid to return for the regional football showpiece.
This draw took place in Morocco on Thursday, July 4, 2024, with the Harambee Stars placed in pot 3.
Harambee Stars last appearance in the tournament was in 2019 and will be looking to return to the continental stage. Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat says the group is tough but balanced. “Our target is to qualify for AFCON,” Firat told Mozzartbet Sports.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to be hosted by Morocco, running from Sunday, December 21, 2025, to Sunday, January 18, 2026.
The tournament will feature a total of 24 nations, chosen from the two top teams in each group.
Group A: Tunisia, Madagascar, Comoros, The Gambia
Group B: Morocco, Gabon, Central African Republic, Lesotho
Group C: Egypt, Cape Verde, Mauritania, Botswana
Group D: Nigeria, Benin, Libya, Rwanda
Group E: Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, Liberia
Group F: Ghana, Angola, Sudan, Niger
Group G: Ivory Coast, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Chad
Group H: DR Congo, Guinea, Tanzania, Ethiopia
Group I: Mali, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Eswatini
Group J: Cameroon, Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe
Group K: South Africa, Uganda, Congo, South Sudan
Group L: Senegal, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Burundi.
