Kenya Police FC will on Saturday, July 27, play six time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club in an international friendly to mark the inaugural Vipers Day celebrations.
The Kenya Mozzart Bet Cup are preparing to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The international friendly will be played at St Mary’s Kitende.
To become champions of Kenya’s Cup tournament, Police FC beat KCB 8-7 in the post-match penalty shootout, after the game had ended in a barren stalemate.
Kenya Police under coach Salim Babu finished third in the 2023/24 Kenya Premier League season after amassing 57 points in 34 matches.
They finished behind runners-up Tusker FC and eventual champions Gor Mahia FC.
While Vipers will use this friendly to entertain the fans, and sharpen the team ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, Police will on the other hand, want the game to give them a clearer picture of their team ahead of the forthcoming Kenyan season and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The game will also build and strengthen the relations between the two clubs, who are both working at further growing their brands in the region, on the continent and across the globe.
Meanwhile, the friendly, which will be the final major act of the Vipers Day, will be played under floodlights. It will come after an earlier contest between the Vipers Legends against a Vipers Fans Select team.
The two games will come in the pre and post-other various activities including entertainment from some of the finest musicians in the country, fans interaction, squad unveiling, engagements with the club sponsors, fan registration plus wining and dining.
