The picturesque 18-holeLimuru Country Club will be the stage for the seventeenth leg of the 2024 NCBA Golf Series this coming Saturday, August 10. The series, which kicked off in March, has traversed Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, attracting over 2000 thousand golfers.
Over 200 players are expected to compete at the par-72 Limuru course, with tee-off times starting at 6:30 AM.
The event offers golfers a chance to qualify for the grand finale, scheduled for Muthaiga Golf Club in November. Six players from each qualifying event – including the top male and female finishers in Divisions One, Two, and Three, as well as the overall Junior winner – will advance to the final round.
To date, 102 golfers have qualified for the grand finale based on their performance in previous series events.
Commenting on the upcoming tournament, NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, said:
“We are thrilled to bring the NCBA Golf Series back to Limuru. This series has exceeded our expectations as it has created a vibrant golfing community and provided us with invaluable opportunities to engage with our customers. We look forward to witnessing exceptional talent on the course and strengthening our bonds with the golfing fraternity in that region.”
Gachora further emphasized the bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability: “As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are planting 100 indigenous trees at Limuru Country Club. This initiative aligns with our broader sustainability goals and contributes to the preservation of our natural environment.”
The Limuru event follows successful tournaments at Thika Sports Club and Jinja Golf Club in Uganda.
