Shabana remained winless at home after being held to a disappointing 2-2 draw against Nairobi City Stars at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on Sunday.

Samuel Kapen gave the youthful Nairobi City Stars the lead in the 4th minute after a defensive mix-up in the Shabana box. However, the lead was shortlived as Eugine Mukangula equalized for the hosts with a fine header. Vincent Nyabuto put Shabana in the lead just before halftime with a well-taken header.

In the second half, City Stars dominated the game and were rewarded after being awarded a penalty. Vincent Owino did not make a mistake from the spot kick

Both coaches rued defensive blunders in the goals conceded. Shabana’s Sammy Okoth said: “We conceded silly goals. The first goal was due to poor reaction while the penalty we conceded was unnecessary. However, generally, we played well and deserved more than one point.”

Nairobi City Stars’ Nicholas Muyoti said: “We would have won the game because we dominated the second half. Two defensive mistakes cost us but I’m okay with the draw.”

At Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, Gor Mahia narrowly edged Tusker 1-0. Benson Omalla scored the lone goal to take his tally to seven goals in seven games.

Bandari defeated AFC Leopards 1-0 at Mbaraki Sports Club in coach Thomas Trucha’s first game in charge. Derrick Nsibambi scored for the Dockers.

At Sudi Stadium in Nzoia, Kakamega Homeboyz beat hosts Nzoia Sugar 1-0, Harambee Stars striker Moses Shummah scored the lone goal.

Bidco United and newbies Muranga Seal played to a barren draw.

In an earlier kick-off, Kariobangi Sharks and Muhoroni Youth played to a 1-1 draw. Collins Neto scored for Muhoroni Youth but Moses Onyango equalized for Sharks.
