FKF Premier League side Shabana will beef up their squad by recruiting between eight and 10 players ahead of the 2024/25 season, Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama has said.
“We shall sign quality players and maintain a squad of 30 players for next season,” said Kerama. The club is also set release up to 10 players from the current squad.
He noted that they have already identified their targets. The club will strengthen all departments. Defender Alvin Ochieng and forward Lyod Kavuchi who were on loan from Gor Mahia are expected back at their parent club.
Meanwhile the contracts of Mustapha Oduor, Brian Magare, Enock Agwanda, Mutua Nthata, Rodgers Aloro, Benerd Otieno, Vincent Nyabuto and Hillary Wandera have expired.
“We shall assess the performance of the players with the technical bench before making a decision. We have player recruitment and release strategy which we shall follow,” said Kerama.
He also announced plans to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be attended by the club’s registered members.
“We shall give a 21 days’ notice for the AGM. This will be done before the season kicks off,” Kerama said.
The SG said they have already started the Club Licensing process which is a mandatory requirement for a club to participate in the league.
