FKF Premier League side Ulinzi Stars on Tuesday parted ways with head coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani by mutual consent.
The club thanked the former defender for his contribution during his one year tenure at the club.
“Kimani will forever be part of the Ulinzi Stars family and the club wishes him the best in his future endeavours,” said the club in a terse statement.
On his part, Kimani a CAF A license holder thanked the club for giving him an opportunity to serve the club.
“I want to take a moment to express my gratitude and admiration for each and everyone one of you,” said Kimani.
He added: “This past season has been an incredible filled with challenges, triumphs, and countless memories that I will forever cherish,” added the tactician.
He added that while his time at Ulinzi was brief, the connections and experiences they shared will always remain with him.
“I believe in this team’s potential and I’m confident there are great things that lie ahead. I wish you success and happiness both on and off the field,” concluded the coach.
Ulinzi Stars finished a disappointing 12th on the log in the just concluded 2023-24 season with 39 points from 34 games. The military side won 10 games, drew nine and lost 15.
The club’s former players Danstan Nyaudo and Benjamin Nyangweso have been linked with the return to the club as head coach.
