Kenya’s Kenneth Mburu Mung’ara again gave a remarkable performance in the men’s 8KM cross-country at the City Park in Gothenburg, Sweden on a sunny Tuesday afternoon to bag a gold medal.
Mung’ara, who seemed unstoppable from gun to tape, clocked 25:39 to claim his second gold medal in the World Masters Athletics Championships.
Victor Ramon Martinez of Spain finished second to claim a silver medal while LaustBengtsen of Denmark settled for bronze.
The Limuru-based long distance runner won another gold medal for Kenya on Sunday in the men’s 10KM Road Race to add on his 5000m silver medal.
Team Kenya captain Eric Sikuku also gave a resounding show in the men’s 5km race walk at the Bjorlanda Stadium on Monday evening.
Regina MalaiMulatia of Kenya so her efforts were rewarded after grabbing a bronze medal in women’s long jump.
Kenya has now amassed 21 medals, which includes seven gold medals, nine silvers and five bronze medals.
The World Masters Athletics Championship, which began on August 13, will take a break tomorrow.
