Shujaa head coach Kevin Wambua has named the thirteen man squad that is set to represent Shujaa in Dubai in the opening leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC world rugby series.

Olympians Samuel Asati and George Ooro are to co-captain the team heading to Dubai.The Dubai 7s will be held from thirtieth November to first December 2024.

Kelvin Wekesa , William Mwanji and Brian Mutua will be be part of the squad as they head to Dubai.

Olympians Chrisant Ojwang, Nygel Amaitsa and speed star Patrick Odongo are also part of the team heading to Dubai.

Brayan Ondego is set to make his debut for Shujaa in the opening leg of the 2024/2025 HSBC world rugby series.

Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi will miss the two legs due to contractual issues with the KRU.

“The two will miss the first two legs but they will still be available for the other legs. However, they will have to meet some requirements because they have not been around for some time,” said Wambua. He said their main target will be to maintain their co status.

“The full squad will be as follows:

1.Kevin Wekesa, 2. George Ooro(CC), 3. William Mwanji, 4. Brian Mutua, 5. Dennis Abukuse, 6. Samuel Asati (CC), 7.Nygel Amaitsa, 8. Chrisant Ojwang, 9. Patrick Odongo, 10. Festus Shiasi, 11. Benson Salem, 12. Floyd Wabwire, 13. Brayan Ondego.

The squad will also be travelling down to Cape Town immediately after Dubai for the second leg of the series.The team departs on Monday twenty fifth November.
