Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has announced Global athletics icon and the fastest woman in 1500 meters Faith Kipyegon, as a Magical Kenya Brand ambassador.
In a partnership, KTB seeks to celebrate Kenya’s enduring reputation as “the home of champions” and leverage Faith’s exceptional global stature to further elevate Kenya’s position as a premier sport tourism destination.
In this partnership, KTB aims to highlight and celebrate Kenya’s legacy as the “home of champions” while leveraging Faith’s remarkable international profile to strengthen the country’s image as a leading sports tourism destination.
Speaking about the announcement, the multiple World and Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon said; “It is a great honor to represent Magical Kenya. Every time I compete, I carry the hopes of my nation and the legacy of champions who came before me. This partnership allows me to share not just Kenya’s incredible athletic heritage but also its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and welcoming spirit with the world. Kenya has always inspired me to achieve greatness, and I am proud to inspire others to visit this beautiful country that I call home.” She Said
Under the partnership, KTB will engage Faith through various channels to amplify the destination’s diverse offerings, ensuring the world recognizes the country not only for its sporting stars but also as a premier tourist destination rich with natural beauty and authentic cultural experiences.
KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei while emphasizing the significance of this partnership said, “We are delighted to announce our global athletics icon Faith Kipyegon as the latest Magical Kenya brand ambassador. Faith was a natural fit for this role as a shining example of Kenyan excellence, resilience, and world-class performance, attributes that our nation is known for, world over.”
According the CEO, this engagement is part of KTB’s ongoing strategy to leverage Kenya’s globally renowned athletes as powerful voices to position the country brand and enhance its visibility.
“We have seen tremendous success with previous magical brand ambassadors such as Eliud Kipchoge and Dr. Paul Tergat as well as with the Harambee Stars. Kipyegon’s addition strengthens our ambassadorial line-up, deepening Kenya’s visibility in the global tourism market.” Said the CEO.
Sports have long been one of Kenya’s strongest national assets, alongside its remarkable wildlife, vibrant culture, and breath-taking scenery.
KTB is increasingly focused on sports tourism, recognizing athletes like Faith as natural ambassadors who carry Kenya’s story to the world, inspiring tourists with narratives of passion, authenticity, and achievement.
Faith is part of the Kenya Athletics team that will take part in the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13-21, where she is set to defend her 1500-meter title.
“We are taking this opportunity to wish Faith and the entire Kenyan contingent to the World Championship games in Tokyo, all the best as they finalise their preparations to represent the country.
