The incident unfolded around 6:00 p.m. when Amanda’s uncle arrived at her family’s apartment. With her mother still at work, Amanda was under the care of her nanny. Eyewitness accounts suggest the nanny sensed danger and attempted to shield Amanda from harm, but her efforts were futile.
What followed shocked residents to their core. The uncle reportedly wrested Amanda from the nanny, carried her to the balcony on the second floor, and jumped off with her in his arms. The fall caused severe injuries, but the horror didn’t end there. Onlookers watched in disbelief as the man reportedly began to harm Amanda further before security guards and neighbors intervened.
Neighbors’ Intervention and Mob Justice
The neighbors, fueled by outrage, subdued the suspect and subjected him to mob justice before police from Kiamumbi Police Station arrived to rescue him. Both Amanda and her uncle were rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital.
