Kenya’s Premier League reigning champions Kenya Police FC have been in pool A’ of the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2025 sponsored by Betika. 

Kenya Police will face Singida Black Stars of Tanzania, Garde Cotes FC, and Ethiopia Coffee SC. 

The tournament with 12 teams will run September 2-15th in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam.

In the draw carried out on Thursday morning at the Pan Pacific Suites in Nairobi, the 2024 finalists APR FC were placed in Group B alongside side NEC FC (Uganda), Bumamuru FC (Burundi) and Zanzibar’s Mlandege FC.

Yusuf Mossi, the CECAFA Competitions Director who conducted the draw said the competition will take place at the Azam Complex, Chamazi, KMC Stadium and the Major General Isamuyo Stadium.

“This competition will also help our teams in the region prepare ahead of the 2025/2026 CAF compeptitions which kick off next month,” said CECAFA Executive Director Auka Geceho.

Tanzania Premier League side, Singida Big Stars FC who will play in the CAF Confederation Cup are placed in Group A together with Garde Cotes FC (Djibouti), Ethiopian Coffee SC (Ethiopia) and Kenya Police FC.

Al Hilal, who will also represent Sudan in the CAF Champions League is placed in Group C together with Kator FC (South Sudan), Mogadishu City Club FC (Somalia), and Al Ahly SC Wad Madani (Sudan). 

Group A: Singida Black Stars FC, Garde Cotes FC, Ethiopian Coffee SC, Kenya Police FC

Group B: APR FC, NEC FC, Bumamuru FC, Mlandege FC

Group C: Al Hilal, Kator FC, Mogadishu City Club, Alahly SC Wad Madani
