Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, while speaking in Londiani, Kericho County, called on elected leaders and Kenyans who have made it a habit to insult President William Ruto.
Aden Duale noted the presidency was a symbol of national unity; hence it deserved respect from all quarters.
“A decent and God-fearing leader has to respect the leadership and more so the presidency as a symbol of national unity. Politicians abuse the president; we have seen other people abuse the president. If you want to be respected by your wife, husband, or children and everybody else, we must first show respect,” Duale said.
He further urged Kenya Kwanza leaders, particularly those who had rebelled against him, to continue supporting him in delivering his agenda.
“I ask Kenya Kwanza leaders, all of us were with the president, campaigned with him, committed ourselves collectively to the manifesto of the president. Today, you cannot hold a position in government and contradict saying it is the president alone to deliver, no. Let all of us deliver for the people of Kenya,” Duale urged.
He also echoed that the problems facing the country are not confined to one political side. “The problems of our country are not for the government or Opposition alone. All of us in the ruling party and the opposition have one job, which is solving the problems of Kenyans.”
It was intended to bring all the factions together and provide lasting solutions to the many problems that the nation faced, including opposition politicians in government, Duale added.
