During an interview with Milele FM, Uhuru said, “I’m well, I’m at peace and I’m grateful to God. I’m praying for peace and understanding in our nation.” He added that Kenyans need unity that is critical to the development of the country.
“Nowadays, I do not speak much but I wish peace and unity to Kenyans,” he added. He urged citizens to recognize their shared humanity, saying, “We should stop hatred among each other.”
Uhuru emphasized, “I have never had an issue with anyone and till to date, I have no issue with anyone.”
Usually, he holds the birthday with family; this year, he is in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to mark the event with friends.
Uhuru first thanked God for another year of life: “I thank God for as far as he has brought me, I thank him for life, and all the things he has done to us.” He then prayed for continued safety and unity among Kenyans.
He also dedicated a Reggae song to his wife, Margaret Kenyatta. “I Got You Babe by UB40,” he revealed when asked about his favorite tune. His favorite meal is ‘nyama choma’, he observed, adding that due to age he has had to reduce its consumption.
